I believe that after getting past the clever voyeurviting headline, the article redeems itself well.
I was glad to see a LGBT advocate interviewed, although it appears that all quotations from this person may not have been included. What was included could, by some, be translated into.."not all gay people would like something like this"
The headline, as well as, the lead paragraph mentions three items: drag queens, pink cocktails and a crew cabaret, yet there is little mention of these items later in the article. Pink cocktails, of course, is explainable as, generally, it is well-known that long flights serve alcoholic beverages. "A cabaret performed by crew" is explainable enough itself. But where are the drag queens? I believe such stereotypical headline deserves explanation within the body of the article. The only possible connection could be the "contests" planned for the passengers.
On another subject, one thing I have always been interested in is understanding how different items within internet news articles are selected to receive a hyperlink. In this article, two other airlines are mentioned in paragraph six. Of all three airlines mentioned in the article, only Air Canada gets a hyperlink. Why? Does Air Canada advertise more on some MSNBC affiliate? Is some MSNBC executive on the Air Canada board? Who decides these links?
